Involvement of CO2 generated by urease in multiplication of Helicobacter pylori

نویسندگان

چکیده

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) urease generates both ammonia (NH3) and carbon dioxide (CO2) from urea. NH3 helps H. to survive in the stomach part by neutralizing gastric acid. However, relationship between CO2 is not completed cleared. We examined effect of generated on multiplication using isogenic ureB mutant complemented strain JP26. Wild-type survived medium supplement with 1mM urea room air, however, negative did not. To discern whether was incorporated into pylori, 14C bacillus counted after 6 hours incubation acidic neutral medium. Significant more uptake detected wild-type compared this under condition condition, but no difference identified strain. These results suggest that plays a role pylori.

Molecular Dynamics Study of Helicobacter pylori Urease

Helicobacter pylori have been implicated in an array of gastrointestinal disorders including, but not limited to, gastric and duodenal ulcers and adenocarcinoma. This bacterium utilizes an enzyme, urease, to produce copious amounts of ammonia through urea hydrolysis in order to survive the harsh acidic conditions of the stomach. Molecular dynamics (MD) studies on the H. pylori urease enzyme hav...

Determination of Helicobacter pylori Antigen in Stool Samples and Comparison with Rapid Urease Test in Patients Suspected of Helicobacter Infection

Background and Aims: Helicobacter pylori (H. Pylori) is the microorganism that infects nearly half of word's population. There are several invasive and non-invasive methods for diagnosis of infection. The main objective of this study was to evaluate antigen of H. Pylori in feces with H. pylori stool antigen (HpSA) test and comparison with rapid urease test (RUT) in the patients suspected to be ...

Assessment of antibacterial effect of garlic in patients infected with Helicobacter pylori using urease breath test

Objective: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is the most common pathogenic bacteria in the stomach. The aim of the current study was to explore the effect of oral garlic administration on bacterial urease activity inside the stomach and its contribution to the treatment of H. pylori infection.   Materials and Methods: In this clinical trial, 15 patients were studied quantitatively with Urease Bre...

Helicobacter pylori Urease Activity is Influenced by Ferric Uptake Regulator

PURPOSE The role of the Ferric Uptake Regulator (FUR) in the acid resistance of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) has been thought to be independent of urease. However, we demonstrated in this study that Fur influences urease activity. MATERIALS AND METHODS A fur knockout mutant of H. pylori was constructed by replacing the Fur gene with a kanamycin resistant marker gene. The wild-type H. pylor...

Helicobacter pylori urease significantly reduces opsonization by human complement.

The role of Helicobacter pylori urease in opsonization by human complement was investigated. H. pylori wild type strain N6 and isogenic mutants lacking either the large urease subunit (UreB) or an accessory urease protein (UreG) were incubated with different sera. C3b bound to the bacteria was measured by specific staining and flow cytometry. As compared with opsonization of N6 and the UreG-lac...
